Wandering Wanda

from Always There
Wandering Wanda is there very first song I wrote specifically for children. It's debut performance was a Water Festival up in Marquette Michigan in 2008. It has since been a favorite with children and adults alike. This first ever studio version features voices and raining sounds from The Schoolhouse Elementary School in South Burlington, Vermont as well as an audience from Harvest Gathering 2014 in Lake City, MI.
LYRICS
Wandering Wanda walked out her door
Looked up with a smile at the blue sky
The sunshine warmed her skin and she thought
What a wonderful day for a walk

So she started out and a little ways down the road
She noticed the ground was dry
And the plants in her neighbor’s garden looked thirsty

So she stopped and said I wish it would rain
I wish it would rain all day
And what do you know?
The grey clouds came
And they hovered above her (They hovered above her)
They hovered above her (They hovered above her)
They hovered above her (They hovered above her)
They hovered above her (They hovered above her)

And the air grew thick with moisture
It felt like swimming in an oyster but still
Not a drop of rain
The air grew thick with humidity
And Wanda was getting sweaty but still
Not a drop of rain

So she threw up her hands and said
Clouds let go of the rain (Let go of the rain, let go of the rain)
So she threw up her hands and said
Clouds let go of the rain (Let go of the rain, let go of the rain)
So she threw up her hands and said
Clouds let go of the rain (Let go of the rain, let go of the rain)
So she threw up her hands and said
Clouds let go of the rain (Let go of the rain, let go of the rain)

The raindrops, the raindrops fell
The raindrops, the raindrops fell
The raindrops, the raindrops fell (repeat 4x each time building)

Wandering Wanda walked back to her door
Looked up with a smile at the grey sky
The raindrops had cooled her skin and she thought
What a wonderful day for a walk
